Identity Of New Slipknot Member "Nobody's F---ing Business,' Says Band

Slipknot's messy split with longtime percussionist Chris Fehn this past winter is in the hands of the lawyers for both parties.

But the band has gone ahead and filled Fehn's #3 position with a mystery person whom Slipknot is apparently refusing to identify.

"The position you may or may not be talking about it nobody's f---ing business," percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan told Kerrang!.

He then added, "The proof is in the pudding." It's unclear sure what that's supposed to mean.

Slipknot has withheld the names of new members in the past. In 2014, the band declined to identify drummer Jay Weinberg and bassist Alessandro Venturella, until fans eventually figured it out.

Part of the mystique is surely a publicity stunt, but since Fehn's complaint against the band included allegations of being stiffed on publishing royalties and his cut of merchandise sales, it's not hard to interpret the obfuscation as a bit of a shot at Fehn. Maybe this is their way to telling Fehn that he was never as essential to Slipknot as he thought.

The band has only sparingly addressed Fehn departure with an official statement explaining, "Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot."

Slipknot's new album, We Are Not Your Kind, is available everywhere Aug. 9.

You can watch the band perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with its mysterious new percussionist in the video embedded above!
