Egg prices are coming down!

Prices fell to $2.61 per dozen eggs on Monday from $5.43 on Dec. 19th. So why have egg prices skyrocketed? Food economists say a big reason is that this country has been dealing with the deadliest outbreak of bird flu in history, killing 58 million birds across 47 states and disrupting the egg supply. What’s more, the latest outbreak hit right during the peak of the holiday season. But as the bird flu subsides and the supply chain gets back on track, wholesale egg prices are the first of the prices to come down and, according to economists, retail products tend to follow about four weeks after
