As part of a study, a researcher asked teenagers: "Imagine you have this very unpleasant choice. So, you can either watch your phone tumble to the ground and shatter into a million pieces or you can have a small bone in your hand broken." Shockingly, up to 50 percent of them determined that it makes more sense to have a bone in their hand broken, then to have their phone broken. Which would you rather have? Shattered phone? Broken bone?
