"Mississippi Songwriters - Songs From Home" TV Special (week 3)

This Friday April 24th 4:30PM on WLOX ABC and Sunday April 26th at 1PM on WLOX CBS TV and also statewide on Gray Media Group, Inc. stations (WLOX, WLBT, WTOK, WMC)

This TV special will feature well-known Mississippi singer/songwriters recorded live from their quarantined homes…The artists will be donating their time and talent singing original music to spread happiness in these difficult times trying to bring the people of Mississippi together.

With ten #1’s and 40 top ten singles, 14 CMA Awards, 7 Hall of Fame Awards and over 350 cuts between them…here is the list of the singer/songwriters to be featured in week 3!

Paul Overstreet (Vancleave) Hit Nashville Songwriter/Artist , Grammy Winner, CMA winner, BMI Songwriter of the year (Forever and Ever, Amen, When You Say Nothing at All, Some Beach, She Thinks my Tractor’s Sexy, On the Other Hand, Diggin’ Up Bones, Love Will Build a Birdge) Hall of Fame Awards.

Mac McAnally (Belmont) Hit Artist/Songwriter/Producer, 10 time CMA Musician of the year, Hall of Fame Awards, current member of Jimmy Buffett’s Band, (It’s a Crazy World, Back Where I Come From, Down the Road, Old Flame, All These Years, Two Dozen Roses, Thank God For You) Jeff Bates (Bunker Hill) Country Music RCA Artist with seven chart singles on the Billboard country charts, of which three reached top 40: (The Love Song, I Wanna Make You Cry, Long, Slow Kisses, Leave the Light On)

Lisa Mills (Hattiesburg) Mississippi native, now Alabama resident Lisa Mills could be called a blues singer, gospel singer, torch singer or an R&B singer, and each label would be accurate. Has had tours in the U.K. and Europe and just released her new album “The Triangle”.

Johnny Mire (Gautier) From singer/songwriter to management at the Grand Ole Opry, Johnny spent over 30 years in the entertainment industry in Nashville before returning home to the Bayou. Tours and performs now with the Bayou Troubadours. Blue Mother Tupelo (Como) husband and wife team of Ricky Davis and Micol Davis began performing as a duo in 1995. Unique, passionate, inspired and unaffected by musical genres, Blue Mother Tupelo is pure heart and soul.02 2020 finds Blue Mother Tupelo celebrating 25 years of music together.
