Morgan Wallen took a “new approach” with the new song that made its debut on Friday (October 18). “Love Somebody” serves as the first impression of Wallen’s upcoming project, following “Lies Lies Lies” and the singer-songwriter’s third studio effort, One Thing At A Time. The massive album included 36 tracks when Wallen released it last year.

Wallen penned “Love Somebody” with John Byron, Ashley Gorley, Jacob Kasher Hindlin, Elof Loelv and Ryan Vojtesak. Joey Moi and Charlie Handsome produced the song. Wallen said in a press release from his record label that “'Love Somebody' is a little bit of a new approach lyrically and sonically. I wanted to try something different, with what I wanted to talk about, how I wanted it to sound, and we were inspired by Latin-leaning influences. I'm really excited about this song and pumped that it is out.”

“I just wanna love somebody/ Who won't leave a hole in my heart/ I just wanna love somebody/ That don't want me fallin' apart/ And I'll be lucky if I ever find/ A somethin' more than just a crazy night/ I just wanna love somebody”

“Love Somebody” arrives as Wallen brings his long-running “One Night At A Time 2024 Tour” to an end this weekend. He’s set to take the stage on back-to-back nights at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The tour included a historic, record-breaking two-night run at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee, where Wallen became the first artist ever to play two nights at the venue for a total of more than 156,000 concertgoers.

Wallen also announced on Thursday (October 17) that he’s kicking off a three-day music festival in 2025. The Sand In My Boots Music Festival — titled after the hit single from One Night At A Time — is set for May 16-18 in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Wallen said additional information, including the lineup, will be announced at a later date.
