Luke Bryan apologized to fans as he dropped out of shows for the second weekend in a row because of “continued illness.”

Bryan shared a statement on his Instagram story on Wednesday (June 25) to announce he would no longer perform as he continues to recover from an unspecified illness: “I’m really sorry to say I won’t be able to play this weekend’s shows due to continued illness. I’ve been hoping to rally, but my voice is just not there yet. Huge thanks to my buddy [Eric Church] for stepping in last minute — and of course, putting on a kick a** show like he always does. Sitting still is not what I do best so I can’t wait to be back soon. Love y’all, Luke.”

Bryan’s latest announcement arrives days after he initially shared that he would reschedule two of his headlining shows “due to illness.” He told concertgoers: “Please hold on to your tickets—they will be honored for the new dates. Thank you for your understanding.” Shortly before Bryan announced his illness, he promised refunds to ticket holders at his tour stop in Rogers, Arkansas.

Next, the country megastar was slated to take the stage at three music festivals: Country Stampede on Thursday (June 26) in Bonner Springs, Kansas; NebraksaLand Days on Friday (June 27) in North Platte, Nebraska; and Country Jam on Saturday (June 28) in Grand Junction, Colorado, according to Bryan’s previously-announced tour dates. His next performance is scheduled for July 10 on the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Bryan kicked off his tour dates with the first-ever West Coast stops on his annual “Farm Tour.” He’ll bring the “Farm Tour” to the Midwest in September, and before then, he’s on his headlining “Country Song Came On Tour.” Up-and-coming artists joining the tour on select dates include George BirgeAvery AnnaAshland CraftMae EstesCole GoodwinBraxton KeithRandall KingVincent MasonDrake MilliganAdrien Nunez and Owen RieglingDJ Rock will join all shows, per a press release issued when Bryan announced the tour earlier this year.
