Carly Pearce is “keeping it real honest,” the Grammy-winning artist said as she shared a clip of an onstage mishap over the weekend.

“Uh oh,” Pearce said as she unexpectedly discovered a loose hair extension while she spoke with her audience. “Wow, this has never happened to me.” The audience cheered, and Pearce said, “if y’all think my hair’s real, it ain’t!” She wrote in her caption on Instagram, “There’s a first time for everything…. Just keeping it real honest out here, y’all 😅”

Instagram commenters gushed over the country star, and applauded her for “being real.” One wrote, “love that you just owned it,” and another said, “honest woman (in) a nutshell.” Fellow artist Rita Wilson reacted, “You’re real though! Love YOUUUU!”

Pearce’s latest performances arrive as she’s been stirring anticipation for the next chapter in her career. Pearce’s latest studio album is hummingbird, which she released in June 2024 and extended into a deluxe edition in March 2025. Pearce confirmed on an episode of Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast earlier this year that her fifth studio album is “done,” though she hasn’t announced a release date as of publication time on Monday (June 15). So far, Pearce has released “Dream Come True,” “Church Girl,” “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay” with Riley Green, and “You Can Have Him” as she gets ready for her next era.
